Nexus Consulting Services Pty Ltd has extensive experience in the provision of outplacement services. Whether yours is a relatively small company or a multi-national organisation with thousands of employees, we are able to meet your needs. Our outplacement services help promote your company as a good corporate citizen during the difficult times of a restructure.

Our associations and partnerships throughout Australia and New Zealand, and in the UK, the USA, and Singapore means that employees in our outplacement program have access to a wide range of firms who can facilitate their placement in Australia and internationally. But at the same time, our outplacement programs offer a highly individualised and personalised service. Typically we are involved with the client company well before the announcement of the restructure so that we can help relevant personnel plan the process including timings, the method and nature of the announcement, and what outplacement services are to be provided to which employees. An outplacement program from Nexus Consulting Services Pty Ltd has the following features:
  • Attendance at the time of the announcement so that employees have immediate access to qualified professionals for psychological support counselling. This support counselling is ongoing through the outplacement process (usually about three months).

  • Psychological support counselling is offered not only to the retrenched employee but also to members of their family and, just as critically, to the "survivors" of the restructure.

  • After an appropriate interval, outplaced personnel are offered assessment for the purposes of career and training exploration (see our information on Vocational Assessment and Career Planning). Such assessment only uses psychological instruments of superior reliability and validity, and results in the generation of a lengthy and detailed report.

  • Identification of appropriate occupations and any training required is undertaken using a proprietary relational database.

  • Professional resumes are prepared.

  • The employee is trained in the strategies and skills for improved job placement including job research techniques, company research techniques, self-employment options and strategies for successful business set-up, and interview presentation skills.

  • If necessary, the employee is referred on to quality job placement agencies.
