Performance Improvement Characteristics (Job Analysis)
The Performance Improvement Characteristics (PIC) is a job analysis method that assesses personality-based job requirements. It doesn't just measure the requirements of a job as it is, but as it should be, by identifying characteristics necessary for effective performance. The results link to the HPI scales. The PCI was developed with these goals in mind: to offer a fast and effective way to assess the personality-based requirements of any job; to evaluate the specific person-oriented characteristics that improve performance on the job; to establish the profile of the ideal incumbent that can be used as a training template; and to be used in conjunction with traditional job analysis methods to determine the total requirements of an occupation.
The PIC, Hogan Personality Inventory, the Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory, and the Hogan Development Survey are from Hogan Assessment Systems. These assessments are the result of 25 years of development, refinement, and validation. They predict on-the-job performance, particularly those aspects of performance normally associated with "attitude". Hogan Assessment Systems has offices in Tulsa, OK and Jacksonville, FL, USA. The founders, Drs Robert and Joyce Hogan were professors of psychology at the University of Tulsa, and prior to this both were professors at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Once you have completed the questions in the test application form and payment has been received by us you will be issued with a user name and password by return email. The user name and password will allow you to access and complete the questionnaire for the test you have selected. Upon receipt of the completed questionnaire, you will receive your report within 24 hours.
Answers to the questions contained in the test application form are required for two reasons:
- some of the information is needed so that we may select the appropriate norms ("standards") for us to score your results so that they are relevant to you; and
- some of the information provides useful background information so that the psychologist who reviews your report can personalise your report and make it more meaningful for you. If in the psychologist's professional opinion, further information would be useful then you will be contacted by the psychologist either by phone or by email (this is at no additional cost to you).
